I try to keep my base recipes as simple as possible. This way, you can always add or pair your meal with sides and other goodies! Pasta is an easy go to. Its quick and delicious. Here is my simple Low Sodium Lo Mein

Ingredients: Low Sodium Lo Mein

  • 1 Package of think spaghetti noodles(0mg)
  • 1/3 cup shredded carrots(0mg)
  • 1/2 cup snap peas(0mg)
  • Olive oil
  • Large onion diced(0mg)
  • sesame oil (0mg)
  • small chili pepper(0mg)
  • sesame seeds for topping (0mg)
  • Mrs Dash no salt added Teriyaki sauce (0mg)

Recipe:

I want to start by saying you can add chicken, steak, or any other meat to this recipe. If you do, please prepare your meat first and add it in when you add in your sauce! Also, you can add in any other veggies you would like! In a pot, boil your thin noodles. While boiling, grab a large skillet! In your skillet place a small amount of olive oil. Add in all your veggies! Don’t cook to long, just until slightly tender…maybe 4-6 minutes. Remove from heat. Drain your thin noodles. Add them to your skillet with your veggies. Cover in Mrs Dash teriyaki marinade. Place back on heat. Stir just long enough to heat sauce and seal in the flavor! Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds and a tiny dribble of sesame oil. I know it isnt the lo mein you are used to, but it does satisfy the cravings! Unless you add meat or something like low sodium soy sauce, it is virtually sodium free….so you can be somewhat guiltless while enjoying! Enjoy! Hit me up if you have great recipes to share!
