This year, as with years prior, I am having a hard time with the holidays. It seems my whole family is looking forward to a large extravagant meal…..one that I won’t be able to enjoy with them. Or can I? I have made a decision that I will, feast with my family. In order to do so, its going to take some planning, research, and patience. I wanted to share some of the things I found and the ideas I have come across! I hope this helps….

The TURKEY:

I would love to tell you that I found an organic turkey or one with no salt at all….but that is just not possible.
  • Butterball fresh has only 70 mgs of sodium per four ounces, what’s naturally in the turkey itself. This is a great way to start the feast! All turkeys are different and some are brined in salt. So make sure you check the label. You can create a great brine at home with no salt added veggie broth and spices!

Sides:

Desserts:

So as you can see, you can have a great little feast for well under 300mg of sodium! This allows you to go back for seconds or even add some toppings in! Im excited for this year….let me know how yours turns out!
Enjoy! Hit me up if you have great recipes to share!
